The Future of AI Is Here and Microsoft Co-Pilot Is Leading the Charge
Clint Utz, Director of Business Development
We recently had the pleasure of hosting a Microsoft Co-Pilot event here in Kansas City, bringing together many of our partners and local professionals for a deep dive into one of the most exciting shifts happening in the workplace today: the rise of AI.
The session was led by Moonshot’s Chief Client Information Officer, Aaron Lafferty, who shared his experience and insights into how Microsoft Co-Pilot is changing the workplace through powerful automation and seamless integration into existing tools.
The two biggest takeaways? The power of AI, the sheer efficiency Co-Pilot brings to your day-to-day, and how the program keeps your data and information safe.
The Power (and Future) of AI
We’ve been hearing about AI for years now, but what felt like a trend or something to play around with is now sitting in the driver’s seat. AI isn’t just “coming”… it’s here. From business leaders across the country, we’re hearing a consistent message: adapt, or risk falling behind.

But it’s not just about speed. Yes, Co-Pilot helps you move faster—but it also helps you move smarter. From streamlined workflows to intuitive insights, let’s take a look at some of Co-Pilot’s most impactful features.
Efficiency Across Platforms
During Aaron’s presentation, there were several moments when you could feel the buzz in the room, the wheels spinning in people’s heads as question after question was asked about Co-Pilot’s capabilities. What makes it even more compelling is how naturally it fits into tools many organizations already use every day, including Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
Struggling with email overload? Co-Pilot can quickly summarize your inbox, highlight key messages, and help you prioritize. Need to schedule a meeting with multiple stakeholders? It scans calendars and finds optimal times that work for everyone.
Two overlapping meetings? One of the standout features is its ability to keep you up to speed—even when you can’t be everywhere at once. Co-Pilot can attend a Teams meeting on your behalf and deliver a smart, actionable recap so you’re never out of the loop.

Excel-sized headache? You can ask Co-Pilot questions about your data in plain English—like “What are the top sales trends for Q1?”—and it will analyze, visualize, and even create charts, graphs and other visual components for you.
Co-Pilot Keeps Security a Priority
When conversations I’ve been in have turned to AI, 9 out of 10 times, it leads to a discussion on security. What data does Co-Pilot have access to? How does it handle sensitive or confidential information? Is my data being used to train AI models? These are all good and fair questions.
Microsoft Co-Pilot uses the 365 security framework, meaning it adheres to the same strict access controls, identity protections, and compliance standards already in place across your organization. And it will only pull from the data you already have access to—it won’t surface files, emails, or chats that aren’t yours to see. Plus, your data stays within your Microsoft 365 tenant; it isn’t used to train the AI model, and it’s never shared with other users or organizations.
What’s Next?
First, a sincere thank you to our partners and business professionals who came out. We’re excited to start rolling out Microsoft Co-Pilot to our partners and anyone ready to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
